Stein didn’t understand woman, he really didn’t. He didn’t like this fact at all.

Sure, he knew their anatomy inside and out, and how their bodies worked, and even why they got emotional once a month (a feat for any man). But he didn’t know how they ticked in their brains. And that bugged him.

He complied what he knew about woman thought processes (which wasn’t a lot) on his computer, and memorized it. Stein ground his teeth. He needed to know more. Angrily, he cranked his bolt. Slowly, the metaphorical gears turned and his thoughts aligned. A smirk grew across his face.

He had the perfect plant.

The scientist pushed back from his desk and rolled out of his lab and into the living room. Marie was sitting on the couch, reading a book.

“Stein!” she exclaimed, closing her book and setting it to the side. She stood and smiled. “Are you hungry?”

Said mad scientist stood as well and took his weapon partner’s hand. He pulled her close and began to hum softly, swaying in time with his humming.

“Stein?” Marie asked with a question in her voice. Stein ignored her, continuing to hum and sing.

“From the rolling hills of suicide~,” he sang softly in his low tenor, swaying in time to the music in his head. “Everyone will run and hide~.” He paused in his swaying to spin Marie in a circle, then clasped her hand tightly in his, and dipped her. Marie’s eye, already huge, widen considerable as she grasped Stein’s labcoat to keep herself from falling.

The scientist straightened, taking his slightly unwilling dance partner with him. He began to sway again, still singing.

“Screaming bloody murder, with their heads on fiiire~.” Stein spun her again and dipped her the other way, this time holding the pose.

“There may just be a chance for me,” he said softly, “my sweet insanity~.” He leaned in, nose to nose with Marie. He was so close that he could feel her breathe on his face.

“If you would, take me with you, on your trip to the moooon~.” Stein stopped singing and smiled. He then promptly dropped his partner. She fell to the floor with a thump.

The scientist lifted one of the ends of his labcoat, bowed like a gentlemen, then turned and disappeared with his chair back into his lab.

Marie sat on the floor, staring after Stein in confusing.

“Stein?” she asked quietly. When there was no answer, she stood, brushed off her skirt, and sat back down on the couch to ponder just what insanity had occurred.
